A large TOSIZE Furniture custom cabinet for the living room, by Martin

In this DIY project, Martin shares his experience with designing, assembling and finishing a large custom cabinet. He opted for a custom-made TOSIZE furniture cabinet in MDF. So that it can be painted in color according to your wishes. Read more about his experience below.

We have designed a shelving unit for the long wall in the living room. We wanted a combination of open compartments and storage space behind doors.

How I created this project

We created a design via the configurator. The TOSIZE Furniture construction kit received was very easy to assemble due to the clear numbering of the parts. We have added recessed spotlights to illuminate part of it. We achieved this with a router and shallow spotlights so that they fit into the shelf. We used small PVC pipes for the cords to neatly conceal them. After filling the holes with MDF filler, this is no longer visible. We then primed the cabinet twice and varnished it twice to get a nice result.
