Desks in home office, by van Rijn

Description

Since the lockdown, more and more people are working from home. To work there comfortably, you need sufficient desk space. I placed a desktop on an IKEA base (Skarsta), to have a thicker and more solid top. I placed the other top on an IKEA chest of drawers (Alex) and 2 legs.

Work description: how did you realize your project

I flattened the edges of the plywood by apply wood filler. I then sanded both tops well and primed them. Then sanded again and provided with satin gloss lacquer from Histor. I gave the tops of the tops a layer of lacquer.

The first top is quite easy to attach to the IKEA base, using 8 screws. The second top is screwed through the top of the chest of drawers from the bottom. Here an extra beam has been screwed along the length for extra stiffness.
