In the bedroom we have a "bridge cupboard" next to and above the bed. Because it is not convenient to have separate bedside tables next to the bed (which then get in the way of the drawers and doors of the cupboard), we have created a headboard with compartments in the space between the MDF bridge cupboard. In these compartments we incorporated a socket with USB and USB-C connection. This means that books can fit in the compartments, phones can be charged, etc.

How I made this project

In the space We first built a frame between and under the bridge cabinet that on the one hand supports the upper cabinet parts and also serves to attach the MDF headboard. We made the MDF headboard in 2 parts due to the dimensions. We left a space behind the bed ( not visible because the bed is in front of it) for easy access to cables, etc., but this can also be made completely closed. To create the storage compartments, we cut 3 rectangles from the MDF using a router using corner profiles, the compartments were mounted, which are also made of cut-to-size TOSIZE.fi MDF boards. After mounting the storage compartments, the MDF panels were screwed to the wooden frame, after which the screw holes were sealed with MDF filler and then sanded smooth. This was repeated a few times until the holes were completely smooth and no longer visible. After this, the entire headboard was primed twice for MDF and then varnished twice with matte wood varnish.
