Description of Emile
In my office the PC and the printer are still on the floor. I was looking for a solution for that. After first looking around at Ikea and Marktplaats I decided to make a construction project of it. It had to be a wooden cabinet in which the PC and the printer and accessories and the cabling are neatly concealed. I don't just want it to look neat, but also beautiful, which is why the cabinet is neatly varnished on the inside and outside,
How I made this project
The design was made extensively and continuously updated on the computer in Word. I did not use any other tools for it. After the design was finished, I ordered the necessary sheet material from TOSIZE.fi. For the dowel connections, I first drilled holes in the sheet material. Then I primed the whole thing and then varnished the insides. I assembled the primed and varnished wooden parts with dowels and wood glue, using clamps. Then I varnished the whole thing on the outside. The finish is done with hinges and wheels. The top and the handle are still missing: that will be solid wood.
Dimensions of my DIY project
h = 102, b = 53.6 d = 53.6 deep.
